Enjoy the bright lights and festivities of the holiday season as the Lakeside Festival of Lights is celebrating 21 Years in 2016!
From Friday, December 2 to Monday, January 9, the Lakeside Festival of Lights will fill Spencer Smith Park from dusk till dawn. With more than 60 individual displays planned, this is a must-see lighting extravaganza, and a fantastic way to spend an evening with family or friends, adding an extra benefit to the already gorgeous walk through the park on the Burlington shoreline. And if you don’t have time for the walk, or want to see the festival’s displays from a different angle, take a drive past the park on Lakeshore Road.
Also, on December 2, the Festival invites you and your family to join them for their Candlelit Stroll and opening ceremonies!
Starting at 6pm at City Hall Civic Square, this family friendly event is great fun featuring Christmas music, fresh and festive burgers from Works Gourmet Burger Bistro, free hot chocolate from Coffee Culture, the lighting of the Tree of Hope, and more.
The candlelit walk begins at 7pm, with complimentary candles and route maps available for pickup at the opening ceremonies.
As the longest running festival in the city of Burlington, the Lakeside Festival of Lights holds a special place in the hearts of many residents, and yearly visitors. Don’t miss the chance to make it a tradition that you and your friends and family can continue for years to come.
