Santa Claus is Coming to Town!
This year, Santa Claus will make his annual trip through the streets of Burlington on Sunday, December 6th at 2pm.
This year’s parade is extra special as everyone involved will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the parade. Joining the jolly man from the North Pole will be colourful floats, clowns, mascots, bands, and maybe a few surprises.
The 2015 Burlington Santa Claus Parade route will see floats and walkers start at Prospect Street and Guelph Line (near the Burlington Mall) and make their way along Guelph Line to New Street, west along New Street to James Street, north on Brant Street, and finishes at the intersection of Brant and Caroline Streets.
The Burlington Santa Claus Parade also invites people to bring a nonperishable food donation. The Burlington Teen Tour Boosters will be walking the parade route collecting donated items in support of local food banks.
While we can’t predict the weather, it is important to remember to bundle up and be ready for the elements. Even a cool breeze can start to chill your bones during the parade. And if you’re really feeling prepared, bring a thermos full of your favourite hot drink to share with friends and family.
Make sure you head down to the parade route early on Sunday, December 6 to find a good spot to see all of the action, and get comfortable. It’s going to be a great parade, and we’re sure that the 50th will be bigger and better than the year before.
